New Patient
Welcome to our general surgery clinic. This is where you will be first assessed after initial referral to Dr. Jedrzejko and/or where post-procedure follow-up will occur. We look forward to caring for you.
Dr. Jedrzejko is a general surgeon providing advanced, comprehensive surgical care, and can manage both routine and critically ill patients. Typically, a general surgeon takes care of a variety of patients with conditions such as a hernia, biliary disorders (e.g., gallstones), bowel obstructions, gastrointestinal or colorectal cancers, breast conditions including breast cancers, and trauma.
You may be referred to Dr. Jedrzejko as an inpatient (i.e., while in hospital) or outpatient (i.e., at home/care facility). Your care may require multidisciplinary collaboration with other healthcare providers including nurses, pharmacists, occupational and physiotherapists, physicians including other subspecialty surgeons, and medical learners including medical students and/or resident physicians.
Patient Fees
Patients covered under a Canadian provincial health plan (e.g., OHIP) and/or private health insurance do not pay up-front costs for Dr. Jedrzejko's care. Please bring your personal health insurance details including your OHIP card to every appointment.
However, our clinic does charge patients for late cancellations and no-show appointments, as this means Dr. Jedrzejko is unable to fill your spot with another patient in need of care. Missing appointments at the hospital is costlier than missing an appointment in the clinic. This is to ensure equitable resource use for all our patients. We also charge for doctors notes and completed physician forms provided in clinic.
Please refer to the information you received at the time of your appointment booking, also available here. We accept cash, cheque (payable to Dr. Nicole Jedrzejko), or etransfer (info@drjedrzejko.com).

FAQ
What do I need to bring to my appointment?
When you come for your first appointment, please bring along your valid provincial health card (i.e., OHIP card) and a list of current medications taken. Typically, your referring physician will have forwarded all other relevant reports. If they are available to you, please bring all the medical records pertaining to your condition such as imaging reports (e.g., X-ray, CT, MRI scans), laboratory test results, and, if relevant, the report of any previous surgical procedures. Feel free to bring a support person (e.g., spouse, child, sibling, friend) to your appointment
What can I expect at my appointment?
On your first visit, you can expect to discuss your relevant medical and surgical history with Dr. Jedrzejko and undergo a physical examination related to your condition. Dr. Jedrzejko may order additional tests (e.g., bloodwork, imaging) before discussing surgical recommendations. You may require referral to other healthcare providers (e.g., surgical sub-specialists) in order for Dr. Jedrzejko to provide best possible care.
Why was my appointment changed or cancelled?
Please note that Dr. Jedrzejko also performs on-call acute surglcal care and urgent cancer surgery, which may lead to unforeseen delays or changes to appointments. We appreciate your understanding.
